Bazooka To Gift Dallas Mavericks With Swarovski-Encrusted Championship Ring Pops
There was a time when Mark Cuban joked about not rewarding his Dallas Mavericks with championship rings — calling the tradition "old school" and hinting that he'd try to come up with a more original reward. Ohhhh the horror.
Well, now the joke's on Cuban.
With his hands tied due to the current NBA lockout, even if Cuban wanted to gift his team with their own personal jet-packs, he wouldn't be able to without facing some pretty severe penalties for violating the no contact rule.
However, fortunately for Dirk Nowitzki and his bling-less Maverick compatriots, Bazooka (that's the candy company, not an attack weapon manufacturer) has swooped in to — in their words — "save the day."
Said the company in a statement:
“Bazooka Candy Brands, the iconic confectionary company and manufacturer of Ring Pops, believes that the Dallas Mavericks should be rewarded for all their hard work and their NBA Finals win.”
That being said, Bazooka is creating Swarovski-encrusted Ring Pops in Maverick-blue and sending them to the team, so the players can feel like all the other cool kids who get really expensive hand jewelry when they win things. Nevermind that this jewelry is edible, and has the potential to be non-existent after a certain number of licks.
