Ben Simmons Eats A D’alessandro’s Cheesesteak On ‘The Tonight Show’
Like a gross little kid picking out a puppy at a pet store, the Philadelphia 76ers have announced that they weally weally wuv the big one wif da funny Austwalia voice, and thusly plan on drafting LSU's Ben Simmons in Thursday's NBA Draft.
Look on the brightside, Ben -- you're moving to a city that has somehow managed to capture the full beauty of greasy, cheesy, meat sandwiches! How frickin' cool is that? Philadelphia is basically Paris, except instead of the whole "falling in love with other people" thing, you fall in love with the couch where you eat both your dinners. But hey, love is love, right?
Jimmy Fallon introduced the presumptive number-one pick to his new home Tuesday night with a D'alessandro's cheesesteak, courtesy of The Roots (Philly's chief export). In my humble opinion, D'alessandro's is the best cheesesteak in the city, though to be fair, they're all pretty damn good (Pat's, Geno's, Jim's, Steve's, etc.). We're talking about a sandwich that you'd have to soak in formaldehyde to make it taste bad. Luckily, Simmons will have some of the country's best spots for emotional overeating after he experiences the hopelessness of being drafted by the Sixers.
Oh, and while we're on the subject -- the Sixers look like they're on the verge of trading Jahlil Okafor to the Celtics in order to get a crack at drafting Providence point guard Kris Dunn. Sounds like that will definitely work out.
Good luck, buddy.
