Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Has 9-Minute Conversation With Girlfriend Justifying Racism, Distaste For Magic Johnson

Welp, Mr. Sterling, looks like you’ve got some explaining to do. The conversation (which was secretly recorded) gets more and more racist the longer you listen to it. Was alcohol involved? Maybe. Does it matter? Of course not — Donald Sterling is an old fashioned bigot, just as people (Elgin Baylor, specifically) have speculated for years.

He also owns an NBA team.

Girlfriend: “People call you and tell you that I have black people on my Instagram and it bothers you.”

Donald Sterling: “Ya it bothers me that you want to promo…broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you?”

At one point, Sterling explains that he gives V. Stiviano permission to “sleep with them.” Perhaps this particular conversation was motivated by jealousy? Who knows — what’s clear is that Donald Sterling feels threatened by photos of his girlfriend “walking with black people” on her “lousy Instagrams.”

Magic freaking Johnson even comes up at one point.

“…Don’t put him [Magic] on an Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me. And don’t bring him to my games.”

People used to hate Sterling for pretty good reasons. Now we’ve got every reason in the world. We’ll update you as this story develops.

Magic Johnson is boycotting Clippers games. If I were him, I’d show up to every game, looking for Sterling.
