How Jeremy Lin Inadvertently Put The Fear Of God Into Rookie Scott Machado
Scott Machado is an undrafted free agent point guard who has managed to make the Houston Rockets' roster. His spot on the team was secured when Houston cut Shaun Livingston, so Machado was feeling pretty good. That is until Jeremy Lin called and began consoling Machado about being traded to Oklahoma City.
Machado, understandably, started freaking out. He had just made the roster and was going to play in the NBA, only to be uprooted and having to prove himself all over again. But Lin, it turns out, meant to call Jeremy Lamb. Whoops. L and M are next to each other in alphabet, so it's conceivable that their numbers were next to each other. Or maybe this was just an elaborate rookie hazing plot. But based on Lin's apologetic reaction that Machado describes in the below interview, that seems unlikely.
Get it together franchise savior Jeremy Lin.
