‘I Can’t Breathe’ Has A Whole Different Meaning For Rajon Rondo
Item No. 1: Rajon Rondo says he has no plans too wear an 'I Can't Breathe' protest T-shirt, as many if his NBA peers have done in recent nights. Item No. 2: He went out against the Hornets that night and elbowed Lance Stephenson in the throat:
I Can't Breathe, indeed.
Here's Rondo, via NESN, on the T-shirt that LeBron James, Kevin Garnett and other NBA players have worn prior to recent games:
“Everybody’s different,” Rondo told the Herald in Charlotte, N.C., where the Celtics fell to the Hornets 96-87 on Wednesday. “To each his own. And I definitely support the guys that have worn the T-shirts, but I haven’t reached out to anybody or had anybody reach out to me about wearing a T-shirt, so I’m just going to continue to do what I do.”
Then, on the wild elbow that sent Stephenson to the floor:
Rondo on elbow to Stephenson: "He weighs about 60 more pounds than me. I don't think I was that strong on that play to knock him down."
