In The Second Quarter, 76ers Lead Dirk Nowitzki, 16-13
How much worse can it get for the 76ers? They started the season 0-7 (easily 0-8 by the end of tonight), and things don't look good for the other 54 games.

Tonight they're getting whipped by the Mavs, down by 40 points, or the over-under for what the Sixers will score in the whole game.

At the moment, MCW is Philly's top scorer with nine points. But can they really rely on that type of offensive output every night from him? The answer is yes, the 76ers can be this offensive every night.

Doing this on the anniversary of Darryl Dawkins' first shattered backboard for Philly is both sad and fitting. Sad because at 57 years old, Darryl could outplay most of the guys suiting up for the Sixers tonight. Fitting, because if this team throws enough bricks at the backboards tonight, they will in fact break.

So MCW should expect a lot of minutes for a rookie this year for an awful team. Perhaps he should ask Allen Iverson (22-60 in his freshman year with the Sixers) how fun that is. Then again, this team would probably give their left nads for 22 wins this year.
