Joakim Noah Takes Out His Frustration About The Bulls On Charity
Joakim Noah has had a rough last couple of years in Chicago. He's been injured quite a bit and even when he was healthy, his play on the court has deteriorated. When Fred Hoiberg took over for Tom Thibideau, Noah came off the bench and that didn't really go so well either. Noah has felt disrespected and lied to by the Bulls organization and he had made clear that he has no interest in resigning with the team this offseason. Noah's disdain for the Bulls even leaked over to his charitable endeavors and that just sucks.
Noah is one of the more charitable players out there, as he even has his own charity, Noah's Arc Foundation. But, according to the Chicago Sun-Times when general manager Gar Forman's wife asked him to help out with a Bulls charity, Noah turned them down.
Via Chicago-Sun Times..."Noah didn’t like the way he was approached and pressured, so flatly said no."
Tom Thibideau notoriously never was able to get along with the Bulls management. They hated each other and he hated when the front office would but into his coaching decisions. The team took Thibideau's side, so when Thibideau was let go and replaced with a "Gar Foreman Guy", it didn't exactly go over well in the locker room.
It's a shame that Joakim Noah's distaste for the Bulls affected charity though. We are all for player/management feuds, but not when it affects kids. According to the Sun-Times, the charity was supposed to auction off of Noah's time for a day. It's a fun idea, but instead was wrapped into the Bulls politics.
Morale of the Story: Politics Suck.
