Kevin Durant: Joining Warriors Is ‘Hardest Road To A Championship’, Not Easiest
I guess it's official: Kevin Durant is now a member of the Golden State Warriors. Steve Kerr opened today's Warriors press conference with a joke: "I haven't made the decision yet, but he might start," and later Durant himself came up with one of the greatest athlete quotes I've heard in awhile.
Asked to comment on the criticism he's been taking about joining a team that was already great, Durant said:
Kevin Durant: "We live in a comic book world where either you're a villian or a superhero if you're in this position. I can't control that."

Kevin Durant in response to criticism he's shortcutting/cheating to get a title: "Nothing in this league is easy. There are no shortcuts."

And, I think, the biggest eyebrow-raiser:
Durant says this is "the hardest road," not the easiest to a championship.

Coach Steve Kerr says that Kevin Durant is the type of player that can fit into any style of play. https://t.co/Bpu3D9PFAe

Has anyone asked Kevin Durant about his decision to wear dark socks with light shoes?

Kevin Durant was perfect in the press conference. That Klay joke was funny "I didn't even know Klay had a phone" lmao #Warriors
