Kevin Durant Scored 66 Points At Rucker Park Last Night
When you think "NBA players that would completely own the Rucker for one night," Kevin Durant doesn't immediately come to mind.
Rucker Park in Harlem is arguably the world's best streetball court, drawing the best players and the most delirious crowds in New York City. By extension, this means that it's the flashiest, trash-talkingest, most intimidating place to play basketball on earth. Rucker Park, at least on the outside, doesn't seem to gel with Durant's personality, which is quiet and shy.
Well, last night, Durant certainly gelled. Not only did he score 66 points (8 shy of the court record) on 9-of-11 from three point land, but he owned it. He embraced fans. He talked trash on a smaller player. He shouted, at one point, "I do this!" And before he ducked into a waiting SUV, he had successfully made last night his moment.
