Laker Hit In The Nuggets: LeBron’s Bullet Pass Finds D’Angelo Russell In Vulnerable Spot
This is what it feels like to play for the Lakers this season. In a game in which Kobe Bryant shared the court with LeBron James for the final time, and Kevin Love re-injured his shoulder, D'Angelo Russell found himself the unfortunate center publicity as well.
Here we are in the third quarter as LeBron is trying to hit a teammate in the corner, but instead finds Russell right in the cherry orchard. We're told that Russell is OK, and that we don't have another Manu Ginobli situation. So that's good.
Lakers fans who weren't even watching the game knew about this the second it happened, sensing the pain -- as if a thousand souls cried out in agony all at once.
"Once I knew he was OK, the jokes write themselves," Bryant said.
The Cavs won 120-111, Kyrie Irving scoring a season-high 35 points and James scoring 29. Kobe had 17. Love said following the game that he only has a "stinger" and doesn't expect to miss any time, according to NBA.com.
