LeBron Disagrees With Durant’s Take On Kobe’s Portrayal By The Media
If you were curious as to what the biggest difference is between Kevin Durant and LeBron James -- besides their abilities to stay healthy -- we've found it. When asked about Kobe Bryant's announcement that he was going to hang it up at the end of the season, K.D. wasted no time Judo-flipping the reporter's question into a manifesto on the bloodthirsty media's infatuation with Kobe's poor play this season.
"I did idolize Kobe Bryant. I studied him, wanted to be like him; he was our Michael Jordan," Durant said at a shootaround on Monday.
"I've been disappointed this year because you guys [the media] treated him like shit. He's a legend and all I hear is about how bad he's playing, how bad he's shooting and it's time for him to hang it up. You guys treated one of our legends like s---, and I didn't really like it. So hopefully now you can start being nice to him now that he decided to retire after this year."
Thanks Kevin, but please, tell us how you REALLY feel.
LeBron, for contrast, took an entirely different approach, instead using this opportunity to delicately insert his nose up the media's collective butthole. Nice.

"I think he's perceived as one of the most fierce competitors, a five-time champion, two-time Finals MVP, 17 All-Star appearances. I think the media has done a great job of building Kobe as who he is today. There's no reason for me to say that the media has made him look a certain way throughout his career. He's done unbelievable things and part of the reason why he'd big as he is is because obviously the work he's put into it, but also the coverage that we all get from you guys. So, I don't see it that way. And I don't really get involved in that side of things, but I don't see it that way."
That, my friends, is how you kiss ass. Well played, Bron. We love you, too.
LeBron James said "it was kind of sad" when he heard Kobe was retiring. Said he wore a "nappy ass afro" in high school because of him.
