Mending Fences? LeBron James Played A Basketball Game In Cleveland… And Didn’t Get Booed!
Wait, did LeBron James really play in an organized basketball game in Cleveland, Ohio, without being booed?
That appeared to be the case, when Cleveland's former favorite son made a surprise appearance in the Chris Chambers City League Classic in Warrensville Heights, a suburb located about 17 miles outside of the same city where he spent his first seven seasons in the NBA.
James certainly put on a show, as he played alongside former St. Vincent-St. Mary's High School teammates Dru Joyce III and Romeo Travis. And unlike a year ago, when he couldn't even play a game of pop-a-shot in Northeast Ohio without being heckled, James actually received noticeable cheers after each highlight-worthy play.
I wouldn't count on seeing a similar scene play out the next time the Heat make their way to Cleveland for a regular season game, but at the very least this shows that there is hope for LeBron's relationship with Cleveland.
