NBA, WNBA Respond To Gilbert Arenas Remarks, And It’s Not Pretty
Gilbert Arenas, once relevant in the NBA but now barely even remembered in China, where he most recently played for the Shanghai Sharks in 2013, has been naughty on social media these past couple of days. Why the fuss? Because America has a soft spot for nostalgia, and a 13-year-old funny bone.
Arenas went off the rails, even for him, on Instagram on Tuesday night and today, typing things like:
dont get me wrong, they have few #cutiepies but theres a whole alotta #beanpies running around hahahahahaha if #skylardiggins came out like this,I dont care if she missed every layup..imma buy season tickets and I dont even know where the f*** #tulsa is hahahaha
And today Arenas jumped from the hibachi into the fire be Instagramming this in response to the backlash:
Ppl act like I said some shit thats just down right sexist and rude.....str8 men are attracted to women RIGHT? Men are 80 percent of sportviewers RIGHT? So lets name a few women sports, that still attract the men viewers...#Tennis,omg they were short skirts like female..#trackandfield,short tights and crop tops,so we can see abs "we get ass prints and stomachs,in that sport YAY"#volleyball, short tights and booties hanging out the back off their shorts "FUCK wheres my beer" #beachvollyball, fyckn swimsuits, jumping up and down WOW..#arenafootball theres nothing attractive about a women playing #FOOTBALL until they came out with the gear (no they didnt)"girls running each other over with 90 percent of their clothes removed..whos the mastermind behind this #sexist sport he or she needs a fucking statue..#UFC
The NBA and WBA respond:
Whoa. WNBA just released a statement on Gilbert Arenas’ comments, calling them “repugnant” pic.twitter.com/T860IkeSTw

Always a good sign when you have to cap your comment by explaining that you're not being sexist, and then saying another dumb thing. That typically means what you've just offered is some real top-notch business.
If Gilbert Arenas is still getting NBA checks, can the NBA still fine him for what he said about the WNBA? Asking for a friend...
