Nick Young Was Pulled Over By Three Cop Cars For A Traffic Violation
Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard and renowned goofball Nick Young tweeted on Monday night about being pulled over while driving a rental car that apparently didn't have plates on it.
In one of the tweets he provides a video of the scene that he took on his cell phone in which several police officers can be seen mulling around the three cruisers. Yep. That's three cruisers and approximately five to six officers present for a traffic violation.
You can hear Young, aka Swaggy P, snickering while filming the video and not-so-quietly remarking that "this is all for not having a license plate."
That cop immediately to Young's left seems less than amused. Perhaps he agrees that this presence was a little, shall we say... superfluous.
Obviously Swaggy P was pretty on top of the fact that the response was overkill, but he took to Twitter to ask his followers about how to handle it and whether or not the car rental facility should have been the one ticketed.
I don't happen to know why the rental car didn't have plates, but being a resident of Los Angeles I can tell you that it is far from uncommon to see cars without plates since new car buyers are given a temporary registration and have 90 days to install their permanent plates.
Also, not only did the police employ a gross misuse of resources in the course of writing a traffic ticket, but then they went and insulted the poor dude!
Make sure you get those plates next time, Swaggy! Sounds like this grief and aggravation is definitely not worth it.
