One Man’s Top 5 NBA Players for Fantasy Basketball
In any discussion of the top players in any sport, there is very likely to be some disagreement, especially when there are so many quality players to choose from. Basketball is one of those sports that requires numerous skills in different aspects of the game, and each player brings their own unique skill set and abilities to bear on all those different phases. That makes the argument about which players are the most valuable or the best in the game difficult but fun. It’s one of the best aspects of being a sports fan.
So, let me open the argument about the five players I believe to be the best in basketball today. I will also show you some great ways to celebrate these players, and I promise there will be no arguments about them. I’d love to read your thoughts, so please send them to me at email@example.com.
Here are my Top 5 NBA players for Fantasy Basketball.

James Harden, SG, Rockets – The 2015-16 season didn’t go according to the plan for the Houston Rockets. The season began with three consecutive losses by 20 points or more and ended with a humiliating defeat in the first round of the playoffs by the Golden State Warriors. But along the way, 27-year-old James Harden put together the best offensive season of his career. In addition to passing the 10,000-point mark, his all-around production reached historic levels. Harden averaged 29 points, 6.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game, all career-highs. In addition, he reached career-highs in shots, minutes and free-throw attempts. Only two players in NBA history (since 1970) have matched Harden’s 2015 production in points, rebounds and steals: Michael Jordan (1989) and LeBron James (2008, 2010). That puts Harden in company with the best to ever play the game. Can you imagine the future value of a James Harden signed basketball? There is one available at Steiner Sports for the Houston Rockets/James Harden fan.
Chris Paul, PG, Clippers – Simply put, Chris Paul is the complete package on both ends of the court. In addition to his terrific scoring prowess, he is a master at controlling the offensive flow of his teammates. While he can blow past opponents, and explode to the rim at any time, he can also orchestrate the movement and placement of the rest of the team, and dish to any teammate on the floor to set them up with a shot that matches the best aspects of their individual skill set. Paul has been an NBA first team All Defense selection in each of the last five seasons, making him one of the most balanced all-around players in the game. He is the type of player whose presence on the court elevates the play of the entire team around him. The selection of Chris Paul memorabilia at Steiner Sports is incredible, with nearly 50 individual items available. There are signed pictures, basketballs, jerseys and shoes. One of the coolest items is a hand-signed 22 X 22 canvas of Paul floating through the air, currently available at 51 percent off the regular price!
Kevin Durant, SF, Warriors – After nine seasons with the Oklahoma Thunder, Durant jumped ship and became Stephen Curry’s teammate on the Golden State Warriors. While Durant proved that he can lead, and even carry, an NBA team into the postseason in pursuit of a championship, many people are looking forward to what he can do with a more balanced, offensively dangerous group of players around him. He’s already won two Olympic gold medals, an NBA Most Valuable Player Award, the NBA Rookie of the Year Award and four NBA scoring titles. In addition, he’s been named to six All-NBA teams and seven All-Star teams. His first season with the Warriors has been going quite well so far. He’s already setting new team records. On November 26, 2016, he recorded 28 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and a career-high six blocked shots in a 115–102 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves to become the first Warriors player to finish a game with at least 25 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks and five assists. There are more than a dozen items dedicated to Kevin Durant available from Steiner Sports including several different signed jerseys. There are two very special signed photos among the items at Steiner. One is titled “Emotion” and the other one is “Passion.” Both can be purchased with a customized frame – you can choose from several different materials and colors – and you can also choose from several matte options to really make these pictures look great. The photos themselves are currently available at a significant discount.
Stephen Curry, PG, Warriors – There is no question that Curry was the best offensive player on what was the winningest team in NBA history. He’s fearsome player on offense whose only real fault is that he is sometimes prone to turnovers if he’s not careful. Last season, he broke his own single season record for 3-pointers by an astonishing 116 baskets, sinking a total of 402. To put that in perspective, Curry broke his record by more 3-point shots made than players like Carmelo Anthony, Draymond Green and Jeff Teague even made all season. He set new personal bests in 3-pointers, shots taken at the rim, and free-throw attempts. All this offensive goodness made him the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for the 2015-16 season. At Steiner Sports, you’ll find signed game jerseys, as well as several player profile collages featuring Stephen Curry. Another item of note is a Chris Paul-signed picture in which he is shooting over Curry; a one of a kind item.
LeBron James, SF, Cavaliers – Last year, LeBron James proved that you really can go home again and be loved by your fans again. He brought an NBA Championship home to the place where he got his start as a professional basketball player – the City of Cleveland. While I could list all of the wonderful statistical highlights of James’ colorful career to date, it was his brilliant play during the playoffs and championship series’ in 2016 that people will undoubtedly remember him for the most. He brought the Cavaliers back from the brink of elimination twice, down 2-0 and 3-1 during the Finals, leading his team to the NBA Championship for the first time in 52 years. During those finals, he led all players on both teams in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals – a feat that had never been accomplished by anyone in NBA history. There are nearly two dozen memorabilia items dedicated to LeBron James at Steiner Sports. The absolute coolest item of all has to be a signed picture of James dunking a basket when he was at St. Vincent – St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. What makes it truly special is that it includes a piece of the game-used flooring from the school. There were only 223 pieces of this limited edition item made, and one of them could be yours.
