Other Greek Freak Continues To Be Freaky With Six-Block Performance In D-League
Just last week we were talking about the Other Greek Freak, also known as Older But Less Experienced (OBLE) Greak Freak, also known as Greek Freak 2, technically known as Thanasis Antetokounmpo and his freakish athleticism. Little did we know we were merely scratching the surface of Thanasis' freakishness -- this dude is a bonafide shot-swatter.
Check out his highlights from last night's D-League game between the Westchester Knicks and L.A. D-Fenders. OBLE Greek Freak had six (6!) blocks, all of them monstrous:
OBLE Greek Freak turned down a good amount of money to remain with the Knicks' D-League affiliate rather than return to Europe this year. Will the Knicks reward him with a call-up this season? The (NBA) Knicks are a pitiful 27th in defensive efficiency, and are tied for 28th in blocks per game with 3.5. How about getting a freakish Greek on your squad who can help shore up the interior defense? Nah -- better to keep him in the suburbs. [Theory: The Knicks are not-so-secretly tanking and don't want to win.]
