The Phoenix Suns will look to end the New Orleans Pelicans season tonight on the road as they head to the Bayou with a 3-2 series lead.
Mikal Bridges and the Suns picked up a decisive Game 5 victory by a score of 112-97. Bridges led all scorers with 31 points in the win, while Chris Paul added 22 points and 11 assists in Game 5.
Devin Booker is currently listed as out for tonight’s Game 6, but there is optimism that he’s close to a return, and that return could ultimately come tonight, or in a Game 7 if necessary.

Phoenix Suns vs New Orleans Pelicans Analysis
The Suns picked up a typical hard-working victory in Game 5, where they played extremely well defensively and limited the Pelicans to just 40% shooting from the floor. Defense has been an integral part of what the Suns have been able to accomplish this season and they clearly put together a statement win in Game 5 that said they still mean business and people shouldn’t count them out in their quest for an NBA title.
If Booker is able to return tonight, even in a limited capacity, the Suns should see their win probability increase, possibly along with the spread increasing as well. You can see how important of an impact he has on the success of the Suns and it’s been evident with a majority of people expecting Phoenix to make quick work of New Orleans.
The SportsGrid betting model gives the Phoenix Suns a 58.33% win probability for tonight’s Game 6 on the road, which seems like a very reasonable number after the solid Game 5 performance they just put forward. The model doesn’t exactly love the Suns in terms of the moneyline or spread, but there is a distinct advantage with the total.
The total tonight is currently set at 213.5 and has fallen a point and a half since the line opened, while the model goes against the line move and gives the over a five-star ranking, which is clearly noteworthy in this spot. During this series between the Pelicans and Suns, we’ve seen point totals of 209, 239, 225, 221, and 209, which means with the current total set at 213.5, the number has been eclipsed in three of the five games in this series…something worth keeping an eye on tonight.
