Report: Cleveland Cavaliers Wanted a 2 Game Suspension for Draymond Green
According to reports, the Cleveland Cavaliers propelled the notion of a two game suspension of Draymond Green for his smacking LeBron James in the groin.
The Cavs wanted him suspended for two games. I can tell you that. They wanted it to be a flagrant 2 and to have him suspended for Game 5 and Game 6
(Zach Lowe of ESPN)
Green received a flagrant 1, featuring a 1 game suspension for his actions in Game 4. A flagrant 2, which is what Cleveland pushed for, would have been a little over the top for what transpired. Granted, Green was wrong in his attempt to connect his fist to James' groin, but the guy fell to the floor and got stepped over, everyone and their mother knew some retaliation was coming.
Green has 32 technicals and 4 flagrants in his career, and with his play style and physicality, those won't be his last. Amidst all the hype and Twitter talk, the show must go on. It's time to focus on what's important and support your team as they battle for the Larry O'Brien trophy.
Speaking of showing support, a local Dairy Queen in Elyria, Ohio seems to get the idea, as they posted quite the message on their sign the morning of Game 6. The sign read, "Steph Curry is softer than our ice cream". Whether or not you agree with the popular food franchise, know that Curry isn't going to let one restaurant stop him from furthering his legacy.
