The marriage of DeMarcus Cousins, Rajon Rondo and George Karl was never going to last — nor was it intended to, apparently. The Big Lead’s Jason McIntyre reports that the Sacramento Kings have been positioning themselves to make a run at John Calipari by filling their team with former Kentucky players (Cousins, Rondo, Cauley-Stein) in the hopes of luring him away from Lexington.
But back to the juicy beef brewing in the Kings locker room.
[The Big Lead] After Sacramento was hammered at home by San Antonio Monday night, the Kings’ star, DeMarcus Cousins, stormed into the locker room and cursed out head coach George Karl with a torrent of obscenities, a person close to the situation told The Big Lead.
After Cousins unleashed the F-bombs on Karl, all the head coach – who publicly feuded with the Kings best player last summer – could do was walk away, a source tells The Big Lead. Afterward, Cousins felt some remorse for his actions, asking a couple of teammates if he came down too hard on the coach. They calmly told him, “you can’t scream and curse like that at your coach in front of everyone.”
Last summer, Cousins was the subject of some intense trade speculation based on his presumed incompatibility with Karl — a notoriously prickly personality — which was vehemently denied by all parties involved. Then Adrian Wojnarowski opened the floodgates by reporting that Karl had been secretly lobbying everyone in the organization to trade Cousins, to which Cousins famously tweeted (and never deleted) this not-so-cryptic shot at his head coach.

The Kings are currently 1-7. Expect Vivek Ranadive to change things around very soon.
