Spike Lee On Porzingis: ‘He’s Not Scared Of The Brothers’
To have Spike Lee's blessing is a right of passage for Knicks draft picks, though it's not always a predictors of future success. After all, Spike rocked a Landry Fields jersey for a whole season before his sophomore slump, and subsequent junior, senior and graduate school slumps let everyone know he wasn't very good at basketball. But Kristaps Porzingis is undoubtedly the real deal. After a 29-point outing against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday -- his fifth double-double of the season -- New York and its biggest fan have officially become believers.
May I present example A to the court:
Last night on Fallon, the Knicks' unofficial mascot was asked about the Knicks' 20-year-old rookie and had nothing but the highest praise.
"He's taking over," Spike said. "He can play, and you know what? He's not scared of the brothers."
Does this look like a kid who's scared of "the brothers"? Thanks for shoehorning race into the KP6 story, Spike, but please, if you wouldn't mind telling us -- which NBA players ARE scared of "the brothers"? Name names. We want to know.
