Steve Ballmer Is The Best Owner In The NBA
The Steve Ballmer-era in Los Angeles couldn't have come at a better time. The Lakers are as bad as they've ever been, the Clippers are as good as they've ever been, and Steve Ballmer doesn't have a job. Well, he didn't have one, at least until he bought his way into the front office for the saucy entrance fee of $2 billion.
Colin Cowherd spoke with him today about how he balances his management/business expertise with his relative lack of basketball knowledge.
"I was the statistician on my college basketball team," he told Cowherd, which shouldn't come as a surprise. "I'm a fan."
"Sports are larger than life in America, and yet, the number of people actually involved in creating this thing called the Los Angeles Clippers, is about 140 people. It's actually a pretty small business when you get down to it," said the guy who worked for Microsoft for 34 years. Once again, not a surprise, but interesting to hear how he's approaching his new role as owner.
