SVP On Odom: He’s Not A Reality TV Star, He’s A Human Being Who Played Basketball
Scott Van Pelt's new late-night SportsCenter isn't just another sports highlight recap show -- it's a video blog where he gets to recalibrate our collective perspective on sports' biggest stories. Case and point: Wednesday night, SVP very politely reminded the universe that Lamar Odom was once an exceptional NBA talent. Crazy idea, right? Given his proximity to the Kardashian family -- and the fact that he hasn't gotten any meaningful tick in the last three seasons -- it's become apparent that many view him solely as a reality TV star. After all, a KUWTK camera crew rushed to the Las Vegas hospital where he's currently in a coma, fighting for his life. But that's not Lamar Odom. Van Pelt wanted to make that clear.
Lamar Odom was the Sixth-Man of the Year in 2011. He was 6'10" and did everything. He's also a human being and not an episode on a stupid reality TV show.
