Swift NBA Justice: Austin Rivers Fined $25K For Cushion Throw
In last night's Clippers vs. Kings game, Austin Rivers took out his frustration from his 0-for-3 performance on an innocent seat cushion, throwing it into the stands. Unfortunately, a female fan tried to catch it with her face, knocking a contact out of her eye (if you blink, you miss it):
Austin maintains it was an accident (probably was) and said while he was trying to throw the cushion, it took off on him. Afterward he apologized to the NBA and the fan, and even invited her family to the locker room after the game. Problem solved, right? Also unfortunately, that's an automatic fine, and the NBA hit him up for $25,000. But for a guy that will make over $3M this season, I think he can handle it.
I wonder if Austin Rivers also got grounded by Doc Rivers in addition to the fine for throwing that seat cushion....

Ever wonder why it's always the coach's son that acts up?
David Young has been a columnist for ESPN and Sports Illustrated and would definitely feel a $25K fine.
