The Clippers, sitting at 7-2 and winners of five straight, look like one of the NBA's best teams. Why are they so good? Well, the absurd athleticism of big men Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan certainly plays a role. Having one of the best point guards who ever played the game, Chris Paul, catapulted the Clips to an entirely different level, to be sure.
But the reason they look like a team that could actually threaten to win the West? It's because not only do the Clippers have those elements, but they're working in concert on both ends of the floor. Paul's creating opportunities, and his teammates are taking advantage - L.A.'s fifth in the league in offensive efficiency. But perhaps even more importantly, the Clippers are playing defense and playing it well, ranking fourth in the league in defensive efficiency.
