The Daily Yam: LeBron Doesn’t Even Need Teammates For An Alley-Oop Anymore

  • Eric Goldschein

Welcome to The Daily Yam, SportsGrid’s newest feature, bringing you the top play from the night before, anything else you might have missed, and what to look forward to today. It’s your one-stop shop when you’ve missed last night’s action, and/or have forgotten what day it is. Today, we once again see how annoyingly good LeBron James is at playing basketball.

Your Daily Yam

Perhaps you didn’t care to see Miami get in a practice run on the Bucks last night, and we wouldn’t blame you — considering they’ve already clinched the conference, the Heat have little to play for at this point. But if you did tune in, LeBron went ahead and got the best highlight of the night out of the way early. Perhaps momentarily confused by the concept of Monta Ellis attempting to play defense, LeBron seemed caught in the air for a moment on the break. So he made the best of it:

Ugh LeBron how are you so good it’s really frustrating for the majority of the world please stop it stop it right now.

What Else Happened Last Night?

People were pretty hyped about the Louisville women’s team potentially sweeping the NCAAs for the Cardinal program, until they ran into Geno Auriemma’s UConn squad — the Lady Huskies blew out the Cards 93-60, giving Auriemma eight titles and tying him with the great Pat Summit; James Harden hit a sort-of-buzzer beater to knock off the Suns; Robinson Cano helped the Yankees slam the Indians again (did you listen when Mike Cardano told you not to bench him?); Cliff Lee went 8.2 innings and generally looked like a boss.

What’s On Tap For Today?

Two Champions League matches kick off at 2:45 ET — Barcelona v. Paris St. Germain and Juventus v. Bayern Munich; the Rockies and the Giants battle at 3:45 p.m. ET; The Spurs visit the Nuggets at 10:30 p.m. ET.
