The Knicks Have Acquired Derrick Rose
It seemed eerily quiet on a Wednesday afternoon. Sure we had shirtless J.R. Smith everywhere, but there was nothing else really going on. So in the midst of writing a post about how David Blatt deserves a championship ring and how his Israeli brethren are supporting him, a bomb was dropped.
The Bulls are sending Derrick Rose, Justin Holiday and a 2017 2nd-round pick for Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant and Jose Calderon, per source.

We heard rumors of Derrick Rose could be headed to New York, via Ian Begley, about a week ago. I don't think anybody expected things to materialize this quickly (ever?). Instead, the Knicks make a splash ahead of tomorrow night's NBA Draft, acquiring Derrick Rose's knees in exchange for the eminently replaceable Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant, and the ghost of Jose Calderon. Rose's contract only has another year on it and the Knicks will have no one under contract after next year besides Melo, Kyle O'Quinn, Unanimous All-Rookie Team Selection Kristaps Porzingis. This gives the Knicks the freedom to make a splash this summer.
By dealing Robin Lopez, look for Knicks to possibly pursue Joakim Noah, Pau Gasol or Dwight Howard in free agency.

Just a couple of summers ago the big rumor was that Carmelo Anthony would leave New York and head to Chicago. Instead, the Knicks seem to be bringing the Bulls to New York. Imagine they would have hired Tom Thibideau too? That would have been something. And you have to expect that Phil Jackson will talk to Kobe Bryant before signing Dwight Howard and he will immediately nix that idea. Howard in New York sounds like a disaster.
But Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony, Kristaps Porzingis and either Joakim Noah or Pau Gasol? That's not a championship team but is it possible that for the Knicks..
Everything will be fine?
