TO DO LIST: Watch This Dirk Nowitzki Documentary
Seeing as this week's NBA news cycle has been revolving around the unfortunate offseason of the Dallas Mavericks -- who are on the verge of losing DeAndre Jordan to the Clippers after he gave the team a verbal commitment -- we think it's only fair to give the franchise's greatest player some good pub.
Magnolia Pictures has a Dirk Nowitzki documentary coming out Friday, June 10, in select theaters and on iTunes, detailing the journey of the most prolific foreign-born basketball player in NBA history from European bust-in-the-making to a top-20 all-time great. Much of the film focuses on the relationship and training methods of Holger Geschwindner, the mysterious figure who's coached Dirk since he was 16.
According to Wikipedia, "in 1995, Holger calculated the optimum angle of a jump shot to be 60 degrees." Whoa.

What's more, the feature-length documentary features interviews with the likes of Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter and Yao Ming, who can't say enough glowing things about the 37-year-old Nowitzki -- plus a rare behind-the-scenes look at Dirk's family life. It's basically "Michael Jordan: To The Max" about a guy who looks better suited for a Die Hard movie than in the NBA Finals. Take a look...
