Breaking: US Airways Center Now Talking Stick Resort Arena (What?)
Are you still calling it U.S. Airways Center? Dolt! The place where the Phoenix Suns play is now Talking Stick Resort Arena.*
Already fans are buzzing in excited anticipation:
I will never call it Talking Stick Resort Arena, nor do I have the time.

* = Real name.
In ancient cultures the talking stick was used as a sort of speaker's staff -- only those holding the ornamental stick were allowed to speak. It was popular with Native American tribes, and since the arena's naming rights have been purchased by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community -- owners of the Talking Stick Resort -- there you have it. An NBA arena named after a casino.
So the place where the Suns, Phoenix Mercury and Arizona Rattlers play will now be named this, which of course will be nicknamed "The Stick", which will conjure images of abandoned Candlestick Park. The 'Stick lives!
