Vegas Oddsmakers Set The Over/Under On Wins For All 30 NBA Teams

The NBA season is less than a month away. Does anyone else feel like this is going to be an epic year? LeBron James is back with Cleveland, Derrick Rose is "back," again, with Chicago, the West is stronger than ever, the East is rising (we see you, Toronto and Washington and New York), and for once there's no clear-cut favorite to win it all. There's no way the Spurs win the West again, right? And if it took LeBron, Wade and Bosh a year to figure things out, LeBron, Love and Irving should see similar growing pains, right?
In times of uncertainty, its best to look to the oddsmakers to see how they think things will play out. Remember: Spreads and over/unders aren't meant to be predictors of outcome -- they're meant to get people to bet (this makes even more sense when you consider it is impossible to win half games in the NBA). That being said, here are the over/unders for win totals for all 30 teams, via Bovada:
So the Cavaliers are your regular season favorites. Anybody surprised? Not Zach Lowe.
If you're looking for some value, I think the Lakers are underrated at 32.5 wins -- they have an outside shot at the playoffs if Kobe is healthy. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Knicks feasted on the Atlantic Division (outside of Toronto) -- and the East in general, really -- and got somewhere in the 45-win vicinity. On the other hand, 50.5 is a little high for the Warriors, who are playing with a new coach in an incredibly tough conference.
As we said, don't take these over/unders as predictions. Making record predictions before the season is insane. Nobody can do that, not even the "experts."
