Forty years from now, when the Earth is covered in water and most of the world's population lives inside an Apple product, an aging Chris Bosh will be asked to go on a late night talk show. They'll ask him about his four year Finals run with the Miami Heat, they'll ask him about his post-NBA acting career, about all the Oscars he's won for his work in the "Space Jam" reboot franchise, about how basketball has changed since extraterrestrials with extra limbs were allowed to play in the league...and then they'll ask him to videobomb the host.
"Haha, remember when this was a thing?" they'll say into the hologram camera.
Then everyone will clap and Chris Bosh will realize that the videobomb is his legacy whether he likes it or not.
The developers over at 2K Studios know this, which is why Bosh's virtual incarnation does it during postgame interviews in NBA 2K16. How awesome is that? Is this the first step toward a fully playable velociraptor? What other quirky shit will we see? Will Mario Chalmer's teammates constantly yell at him?
