If the Indiana Pacers weren't so damn awful, we might have seen the greatest single game record in all of sports fall last night. But the Indiana Pacers are so damn awful, and Steve Kerr isn't half the sadist you or I are -- we would've kept Klay Thompson in until he hit the century mark -- so we'll have to settle for the most points scored in under 30 minutes.
On Tuesday, December 6, the year of our lord 2016, Klay Alexander Thompson went 21 for 33 from the field with eight threes and 10 free throws in 29 minutes and three seconds. He had 11 total dribbles.

At 2.07 points per minute, Klay was on pace to break Kobe Bryant's 81-point masterpiece from almost exactly 10 years ago, but once again, he sat for the entire fourth quarter because the Warriors were already up 116-83, so we didn't get to see 84 from Big Smokey (apparently that's his nickname). We did, however, get to see the three best consecutive quarters of offense in the shot clock era -- the highlights of which take nearly four minutes to watch. It's worth it.
