Watch Steph Curry Go Off For 51 Points Against The Wizards
February 4 / Jake O'Donnell / SportsGrid
After someone scores 51 points in an NBA game, the fact that they scored 51 points is usually the headline. But Steph Curry's torching of the Washington Wizards Wednesday night was more unique than just his point total alone. It was about as close to perfect offensive outing as is humanly possible. Steph only took three free throws all game, meaning he scored 48 points from the floor (by far the most of any player this season). He was one three-point field goal shy of tying the single-game record of 12 held by Donyell Marshall and Kobe Bryant. He only missed nine shots all night. His effective field goal percentage was .740!!!
He had the Wizards looking like Keystone cops...
The guy is making basketball look even easier than he made it look last year when he was the NBA's Most Valuable Player. In fact, not only is he defying even his own impossible standards, he's blowing away the competition. Steph Curry is leading the league in scoring while having sat out 14 fourth quarters (WTF?!?) en route to the single greatest season from behind the arc BY FAR. Peep this graph comparing his three-point shooting to that of the 20 best three-point shooting seasons of all-time.
It's not even close. Steph is in a category unto himself.
