In his prime, Vince Carter became famous for getting nice and close to the rim and jamming it down for two points.
On Friday night, he showed he still has that VC swagger...by doing the exact opposite.
To end the 3rd quarter of his Memphis Grizzlies' tilt with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Carter, now in his 20th year of NBA service (feel old yet?), sank a buzzer beating three on a desperation heave that spanned nearly the entire length of the court, to cut Memphis's deficit to 81-76 after three. It was enough to inspire his younger teammates to victory, as the Grizz took the game by a 109-104 final.
It was a bit of a throwback game for VC, who is in the midst of his 2nd season in Memphis, his 6th NBA team. Coming off the bench, Carter scored 15 points in the Grizzlies victory, improving them to 32-22. Memphis currently sits 5th in the Western Conference.
