Bill Walton Has Engulfed The Maui Invitational In A Cloud Of Wisdom
On Monday, Bill Walton was in Maui calling the St. John's-Washington State Maui Invitational matchup on ESPN 2 with Jon Sciambi. God bless that poor man. It's not easy to cover for someone who's constantly going in and out of an acid flashback.
The game hadn't even started and there were already several notable, distinctly Bill Walton-moments. Here's a sample of what it looks like when a man color commentates a game from inside an interdimensional tesseract...
1) "This is going to be a fantastic day of basketball here in Maui gym. I can see clearly now. She comes in colors like a rainbow. Here we go. Maui."
2) "What a dream come true. Maui gym. I can see clearly now. The perspective all so different with the clarity, the clearness of purpose and the detail. Plus we're right here in the coast of the volcanos, everything trembling around and around, trembling and exploded, absolutely fantastic."
3) - Bill Walton
4) "Never forget that 50% of all the people in all of the world live within 50 miles of the ocean. The rest? They all want to get here. We are here right now and we've got a game in Maui with the Maui gym Maui Invitational."
- Bill Walton
6) And this...
BILL: "Maui gym, thank you you for making it all perfectly clear. These tikis are carved from the monkey-pod trees. When the smile goes up, that's about prosperity -- and the feast has been about Vanderbilt this year. This game has been spectacularly played."
JON: "A nice segue."
BILL: "That's a bicycle which I don't like."
7) "When I saw Vandy and Indiana practice back to back, it restored my faith in humanity."
