Former Louisville Guard And Human Nightmare Fuel Kevin Ware Is Back In The NCAA Tournament
Kevin Ware, who unfortunately will perhaps always be best known for gruesomely and terribly breaking his leg in an NCAA tournament game, has punched a return ticket to March Madness with his new collegiate team, Georgia State.
After his horrifying injury, Ware rehabbed and eventually returned to the Louisville team, but transferred to Georgia State after a tough year of being the on-campus celebrity and struggling with setbacks to his leg. Ware led the Panthers over Georgia Southern in the Sun Belt title game with 18 points, nearly half his team's total.
Georgia State is the West region; Louisville in the East. That means we'd have to wait for the national championship game for Ware to potentially meet his old team in the tournament. But first, 14-seed Georgia State will have to get past Baylor, the region's 3-seed. If you're looking for a 3-14 upset, you could do worse than banking on a success story like Ware to get it done.
