Oregon State Basketball Player Roberto Nelson’s Face Should Not Look Like That
Roberto Nelson is a key piece of Oregon State basketball's future. He averaged 7.5 points per game as a freshman, and flashed the potential to do much more (such as when he scored 34 on Arizona State late in the season). Nelson's talented enough, in fact (four-star, top-100 national player in high school), that his stiffest opponent on the way to bigger and better things might be...the basket itself.
Recently, Nelson was among 15 Oregon State athletes in Macedonia for a service trip. According to the Youtube channel chronicling the trip, Nelson and the other school representatives "constructed a second story addition for a local family in need." Good story, right? The kind of deed that suggests karma may bring Nelson some good fortune, right? Well...check out the video below, beginning at the 2:10 mark:
Well, at least (aside from the stitches and bandaging), Nelson made it out okay. His face took a bit of a beating, but overall, his quest to help lift his Beavers out of the Pac-10 basement should remain unscathed. But man...that backboard. It looks like it was ground into dust. Oh well - Nelson must really be due for a stroke of luck now, right?
