Syracuse Celebrated The Start Of Basketball Season With Fights And A Stabbing
Midnight Madness is the first day of college basketball practice for universities across the country in which the home team welcomes their fans to essentially a big basketball party to kickoff the season. Orange Madness, the Syracuse version of Midnight Madness, took place last night, and madness it was as several fights broke and ultimately resulted on a fan being stabbed.
From the Syracuse Post Standard:
The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital in stable condition, said Syracuse police Sgt. Tom Connellan. The stabbing occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the concourse area of the Dome, near the concession stands, as did other fights, Connellan said.
None of the people involved were students or affiliated with the university, Connellan said. The victim has not cooperated with police and no suspects are in custody.
After the stabbing, police and university officials decided to end the event about a half hour early.
But then again, by that same token, I guess it's not a surprise that the victim is not "snitching."
