Buckeyes Defensive End Noah Spence Suspended For Ecstasy… Again
Ten yard penalty. Excessive smiling.
This season isn't exactly going to plan for OSU. The Buckeyes lost to Virgina Tech last week and are 1-1. They're without their star quarterback Braxton Miller and, now, their star defensive end.
Spence will not play in OSU's game against Kent State on Saturday. His status with the team is pending. He will likely see punishment from the NCAA. The standout defensive end was slated to return this week following his previous three-game, pill popping suspension.
It would be ironic if he popped some ecstasy to celebrate not being suspended for ecstasy anymore. And in turn, he got re-suspended for ecstasy. Whatever the reason, the moral of the story: Do less ecstasy.
Spence issued an apology for his actions, via Pro Football Talk.
“I want to apologize to my family, Ohio State’s coaching staff, the Big Ten Conference and Buckeye Nation for the disappointment,” Spence wrote in a text message to The Dispatch. “I will work extremely hard to get healthy and to one day use this unfortunate situation to be a positive role model for others. “Thank you.”
