Lane Kiffin has a new job, and this time we really, really mean it. Kiffin, who ended his tenure with as head coach of the Oakland Raiders by threatening to sue Al Davis, as was also fired at USC and Tennessee, is now head coach of the Florida Atlantic Owls, as per sources.

Kiffin had been reported to have taklen the same job at the University of Houston last week, but that somehow fell through and Major Applewhite got it (there’s a report that Texas high school football coaches actually influenced the pick).
But now it appears that Kiffin has landed in South Florida, where he will try to build the Owls into a Conference USA contender. Florida Atlantic only started a football program in 2001 (under Howard Schellenberger), and has never been nationally ranked in Division I.
