Houston Football Coach Tom Herman Denies Any Rumors That He Is Negotiating With Other Schools
We're at the point in the college football season where the coaching rumor mill begins to work overtime. One of the biggest rumors swirling is that Houston Cougars football coach Tom Herman, who has been mentioned as one of the frontrunners in coaching searches at both Texas and LSU, is negotiating a position at other schools.
Before Houston took on Memphis in its final regular season game, Herman denied any and all talk of coaching negotiations with other schools in a Gregg Popovich-like interview with ESPN.

Herman may not have limited the reporter to two questions like Popovich, but he certainly had the icy stare and straightforward answers down to a tee.
In addition to denying that his agent was close to reaching a deal for him to coach at a new school Herman said, "I'm not going to talk about any other job except the one that I got right now and these kids."
At 41 years old, Herman is one of the most touted young coaches in college football. He's turned Houston into a program to be feared without any of the benefits of being in a power-five conference.
While it might be tempting for Herman to jump ship after Houston's initial bid to get into the Big Twelve was denied, that ship, while anchors up and on the dock, hasn't sailed quite yet. Plus Herman has put the pieces in place for Houston to be a destination spot for top high school recruits for the foreseeable future. A coach doesn't do that unless he has a vested interest in trying to win with the team he is presently with.
As for all you Tom Herman suitors out there, don't worry if he is true to his word and stays at Houston I know another Herman available:
