So what now for Kiffin? The LSU offensive coordinator job is open, and Kiffin is the top target of South Florida for head coach, SB Nation reported Wednesday morning.
Fun fact about Applewhite: after breaking several passing records at Texas, he was drafted by the Patriots in 2002. But he quit prior to training camp to pursue his coaching career.
Not-so-fun fact: You may recall that as the assistant head coach at Texas in 2009, he had an affair with an athletic trainer at the Fiesta Bowl -- a fact that wasn't uncovered until 2014.
