J.T. Barrett Drops The ‘Do You Know Who I Am’ Line On Cops During DUI Stop
There are few people in the state of Ohio with more sway than the quarterback of Ohio State. Off the top of my head, I can name only one human being who might wield more power in that area, and he's the most famous athlete on Earth. So we don't necessarily blame J.T. Barrett for reminding the officer who pulled him over from driving erratically that he throws footballs for the biggest college football program in existence. Unfortunately for Barrett, the cops didn't take the bait and he was forced to plead guilty to operating a vehicle under the influence on Tuesday. Nice try, though.
"I'm the quarterback of Ohio State officer, there's nothing you can do?" he says at the 1:10 mark of the dash cam video.
"My intention is to not take you to jail," the officer responds. "That's about the best I can do."
The cops can then be heard chuckling about his ride home -- courtesy of the other Ohio State quarterback -- which really ties the whole video together. What a supportive teammate!
Barrett was suspended one game by coach Urban Meyer, had his athletic scholarship revoked, lost his driver's license for 180 days and has been ordered to take three alcohol education courses or face jail time.
