84-Year-Old Penn State Coach Joe Paterno’s Bones Broken By Own Player During Practice
In typical iron man Paterno fashion, though, he refused to seek treatment until practice was over.
Paterno was hit by junior Nittany Lions wide receiver Devon Smith, who crashed into his head coach while Paterno took notes with his head down. Paterno walked off the field after practice, but team physicians insisted his injuries be examined. The full story from ESPN's Chris Fowler:
