Mary Landrieu Will Retain Control Of The U.S. Senate For The Democrats, One Keg Stand At A Time
How do you know that a U.S. senate seat is vulnerable in the midterm elections? When you see a candidate doing this. That's three-term Senator Mary Landrieu, (D-Louisiana), helping a bro do a keg stand prior to the LSU-Mississippi State game on Saturday.
It was actually a pretty strong strategy by Landrieu, who herself attended LSU. She set up a campaign tent on campus for game day and mingled with the crowd, some 100,000 strong, glad-handing and handing out campaign stickers. And then, this. From Mother Jones:
Landrieu has by this point been swallowed by the crowd. She is surrounded by raucous fans on three sides and a pile of pizza boxes on the other. The pressure mounts, again, for a keg stand. A chant begins. "Mary! Mary! Mary!" The senior United States Senator from the great state of Louisiana picks up the nozzle of the keg, and…does not do a keg stand. But she does help a purple-shirted bro do one. So, points for that.
"My first keg stand," Landrieu says, as we walk away. "He wanted me to do it, but I said absolutely not—at least not in front of the national press." What if it would've won her some votes? "That's alright—I'm not that desperate."
Oh, I disagree. Doing a keg stand at an LSU tailgate would sweep her back into office, no problem.

Landrieu is in a tight re-election campaign against GOP Rep. Bill Cassidy, whom I would suggest get started attending beer pong sessions if he wants to win this thing. He's only got six weeks.
