Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield Was Sacked By Arkansas Cops In Case You Missed It
Going full Johnny Manziel in public doesn't just happen -- it takes dedication, lack of intelligence and attention to detail. Okalahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield finished third in Heisman voting this past season but was first in hilarious run-ins with the cops recently.
While being interviewed by cops after a reported assault incident a restaurant in Fayetteville, Ark., Mayfield, who threw for 40 touchdowns this past season, reportedly tarted mouthing off to the officers and then tried to flee the scene.
Except that he was rather easily caught and tackled by three cops -- one who said "He's not very fast."
The Daily Oklahoman:
"By the way he's the quarterback for OU," an officer told his colleague.
"He is? Is he really? He's not very fast."
A police report obtained by ESPN said that Mayfield had slurred speech and food was spilled down the front of his clothing when he was interviewed by police. He was arrested and booked into county jail in Fayetteville on Feb. 25, where he spent three hours before he was granted bail to return for his hearing date on April 7.
He's facing four misdemeanor charges, among them disorderly conduct.
