Penn State Football is an organization filled with rich history, overall team success, and a coach that will forever live in infamy. Thankfully, this has absolutely nothing to do with any of that. It merely involves a team, a food franchise, and proper human etiquette.
A worker at the local Jimmy John's, and Penn State undergraduate, was fed up with the response his co worker received from the Division I team. After they ordered a total $1,200 worth of Jimmy John's, they gave the driver a whopping $0 as tip. As a co worker trying to stick up for a fellow employee, he tweeted out a hilarious response to the team's poor manners.
The tweet, now removed from twitter (not really sure why), was re-tweeted almost 5,000 times.
Now any average person would A) not order 1,000+ worth of sandwiches and B) leave a reasonable tip (in this case 15% would be $180). However, the Penn State Nitanny Lions are not your average food goers, and decided against the norm, leaving nothing but a "thank you" for the delivery driver.
Oddly enough, I used to work as a delivery driver myself, and nothing was worse than when a customer offered a pathetic tip, or no tip at all (more often than not). You would think a highly accredited institution would have enough in the endowment to at least leave some kind of gratuity for this guy! Someone needs to teach these football cats some manners, or at least the basic concept of percentages, between 10-15% would do just fine.
