Ay Caramba! The Simpsons Adds to Sports Star Guests With 2 QB Legends on Sunday
Woo hoo! Even in its (record breaking) old-age, The Simpsons is still managing to reign some of the best sports talents to guest star/voice. On Thursday, we reported that hockey legend Wayne Gretzky will be appearing on the series in a December episode.
However, you don't have long to wait for another sports legend to appear, as Sunday's new episode, entitled "Dad Behavior", will feature two passing legends, one best known for his exploits on Saturdays, as USC legend and 2004 Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart will guest star alongside Dan Fouts.
The duo join illustrious names like Johnny Unitas and Tom Brady as quarterbacks who have lent their voices to the series, which is currently in the midst of its 28th season. Both Leinart and Fouts currently serve as football analysts, Leinart with Pac-12 Network, and Fouts with CBS Sports.
A clip starring Fouts, who appears to be ditching his enthusiastic inviting announcing voice for more of an authoritarian negotiator, tasked with doing an impossible...coercing the famous Simpsons baby Maggie to get rid of her pacifier. Dan, Maggie is almost 28 at this point. Let it go man!
As for Leinart, he will form an unexpected bond with Bart, (per Fox's official PR release for the season, which can be viewed here) making him an enemy of the excitable Homer. Behind the scenes video of Leinart filming his scenes as well as clips from the epsiode can be seen here.
The Simpsons airs at 8 PM EST on Sundays on FOX
