TWITTER: Florida State Trolled Marco Rubio After Destroying The Florida Gators
Unfortunately for college football fans everywhere, it looks like Florida State has won yet another troll battle on Twitter; this time with Marco Rubio, aka the guy from Florida that's running for president that is not Jeb! Bush.
Rubio became a target of the FSU social media team after making a joke at Florida State's expense during a radio interview on Iowa's 1460 KXNO AM back in September.
“Look, I don’t have anything against Florida State. I think there has to be a school where people who can’t get into Florida can go to college.”
OHHHHH. "Ru-bi-o! Ru-bi-o! RU-BI-OOOOOO!"
(PS. If you don't understand Hook references then frankly, that's a personal problem that you should address immediately.)
For most normal people in the world that burn is so-so, but for a politician that is epic. That's the closest any presidential candidate is going to come to being legitimately funny rather than painfully awkward.
Obviously FSU fans were ready and waiting to dish out revenge when the rivals teams met in the final game of the regular season on Saturday, and Rubio seemed to sense what was coming with this composed, hopeful tweet.
In the end though, the Florida Gators were unable to escape the 27-2 embarrassment that they suffered at the hands of the FSU Seminoles; and neither was Rubio.
After the game, the Florida State Twitter account had one thing to say.
To be fair, Floriday State trolls everyone so Marco Rubio probably shouldn't feel that special. Still, it's never fun to be left with your foot in your mouth.
