Super Bowl Media Week kicked off on Monday night, and the energy will be high all week as the nation prepares for the unofficial holiday that we all wish we could swap out Columbus Day for.
It's a day that combines the overindulgence of Thanksgiving and the wreckless inebriation levels of the 4th of July with our uncontrollable urge to feed more of our time, money and souls to the NFL cash cow. It's inarguably the most American day of the year.
The only thing that could harsh our football-loving vibe for the next week is the fact that Peyton Manning isn't exactly known for playing in the most thrilling Super Bowls. Two years ago, the Broncos were destroyed 43-8 by the Seahawks in a game that can only be described as excruciating. In Super Bowl XLIV, Peyton Manning's Colts were fooled by a Saints onside kick to start halftime and were never able to recover, losing that one 31-17. Even Manning's lone Super Bowl win was unremarkable on account of the fact that the Colts beat one of the worst Super Bowl teams iofthe last 20 years; the Rex Grossman-quarterbacked Bears.
Obviously there is reason to hope that this year will be different. Not only will the Super Bowl likely be Manning's last NFL game ever, he will be facing off with the 17-1 Panthers who just may run into their first real challenge of the year when they square off against the impressive Broncos defense. Still, the most obvious outcome has the Panthers on the winning end of this matchup with a score a lot closer to the one from two years ago.
In such a situation, the best you can hope for is that the Super Bowl party holds up. If the party is good enough, the game can suck and it won't matter nearly as much. That's why it's important not to overlook the opportunity to liven up the party convo with a hilarious t-shirt. It seems simple and perhaps unimportant but it absolutely is not.
A good t-shirt is a conversation starter, a selfie-generator and a mood lightener. At large social gatherings, a funny t-shirt can be the catalyst needed to make acquaintances into friends and friends into Instagram followers. So without further ado, here are 15 of the funniest football themed t-shirts on the internet to ensure that even if Manning craps the bed, your crew will be on fleek. Or whatever.
