17 Things You Didn’t Know About 17 First-Time 2016 NFL All-Pro Picks … in 2017
The NFL has some marketing issues when it comes to their All-Star game and naming their best players overall. There’s the Pro Bowl, but then there’s also those named All-Pros. One is for the best at their positions for their respective conferences, and the other is for the best in the entire league. How about naming the first All-Stars, and the latter can still stay “All-Pros,” no?
Either way, the Associated Press named their 2016 NFL All-Pro Team on Friday, and among the 28 players named to the first team (offense, defense and special teams) were 17 first-time winners. Among those 17 first-time All Pro picks, three of them were rookies!
This is the first time since Lawrence Taylor, Ronnie Lott and George Rogers entered the league in 1981 that so many rookies were named All-Pros.Here’s the link to all the players that made the 2016 NFL All-Pro Team.
There were just 14 NFL teams represented by this list – meaning less than half of the teams in the NFL had an All-Pro player. Talk about high-end turnover!
We thought, since nearly two-thirds of this team is made up of first-time All-Pros, it would be nice to learn something interesting about each one of these guys.
